Blok FAQ
What's the difference between the NAKA and NAKA Wide?
The standard NAKA suits smaller gatherings and tighter spaces, while the NAKA Wide offers considerably more cooking surface for larger groups or more food at once. Both share the same vermiculite lining, airflow controls and handmade build quality.
What does the vermiculite lining actually do?
Vermiculite holds and reflects heat back into the cooking chamber, rather than letting it escape through the grill's body the way an unlined steel grill would. This gives you more consistent, even heat and better fuel efficiency throughout the cook.
Which finish should I choose — Patina, Black, Corten Steel, or Stainless Steel?
All four share the same handmade build quality and vermiculite lining. Patina and Corten Steel both develop a weathered look over time and need minimal maintenance, while Black and Stainless Steel keep a cleaner, more consistent appearance. The choice is purely down to which look suits your garden.
Are Blok grills actually handmade, or just assembled in the UK?
Every Blok grill is genuinely handcrafted by skilled professionals at their workshop in Ashbourne, Derbyshire — not mass-produced on an assembly line and finished locally. That craftsmanship is reflected in the solid construction and attention to detail throughout the range.
